Monitoring Committee of Estonia – Latvia Programme has approved project “Supporting the renaissance of Seto and Suiti ethnic cultures”, which will spread information about the unique heritage cultures of Seto in South Eastern Estonia and Suiti in South Western Latvia. Seto –Suiti Renaissance project, as it is referred to in brief, will become 64thproject supported by Estonia – Latvia Programme 2007-2013.

Estonia – Latvia Programme is looking for creative communication company with experience in working in Latvian and Estonian markets to produce series of print, interactive and animated infographic materials about the Programme and Programme-funded project impact.

Seminar „Business in Estonia – a possibility for everyone” will take place on May 17, 2013 at Hotel Wolmar in Valmiera, Latvia. The aim of the seminar is to promote cooperation among businesses of both neighboring countries through assisting small and medium size enterprises to recognize opportunities abroad and expand their business.

A new guide, inviting to take a trip to the Baltic Botanic Gardens to see, to smell, to touch and hear the green part of our world tour, has been published by Estonia – Latvia Programme part-funded “Smart Gardens” project.

On May 13, 2013, Members of the Monitoring Committee of Estonia – Latvia Programme will visit Ventspils High Technology Park, where two Programme-supported projects have been implemented. Committee members from Estonia and Latvia will be in Ventspils for 13th Monitoring Committee meeting, during which various Programme issues are scheduled for discussion.

The joint Estonian-Latvian project Radio Classics, aimed at highlighting the young musical talents of Estonia and Latvia and introducing them to the radio audiences of both countries, has come to an end. In the course of one year, Estonia’s Klassikaraadio and Latvia’s Radio 3 Klasika reported regularly on the music events in both countries and co-organized two major concerts of the 2013 Music Schools Festival in which over 200 pupils from Estonia and Latvia took part.

Traveling photo exhibition of white-tailed eagles and osprey will open in Valga Kultuuri ja Huvialakeskus, Kesk tn. 1 on May 2, 2013. It will be the last stop of this exhibit that has been traveling around Estonia and Latvia since 2011.

On Friday, April 26, Estonia – Latvia Programme will participate in Tagasi Kooli (Back to School) initiative with first three classes tought by Programme Information Manager Kaspars Rūklis, who will teach English classes at Lüllemäe Basic School, which is only 22 km from the Latvian border in Estonia. The topic of all three classes will be “Estonian – Latvian Cooperation”.

On April 5, 2013, the longest hobby slot car track in Latvia was opened in Limbaži County High School. This track, a part of Estonia – Latvia Programme co-funded Hobby Slot Car Racing project, is similar to the one opened last August in Sindi, Estonia.

Joint offer of two companies – CPD from Estonia and Safege Baltija from Latvia – won the tender and got the rights to carry out ex-ante evaluation of the Estonia – Latvia Programme 2014-2020. These companies signed an agreement on April 11, 2013. The contract amount for these services is 38, 000 EUR plus tax.
