Estonia – Latvia Programme website Estlat.eu has been shortlisted among this year’s finalists for European Commission’s prestigious Regio Stars Awards for Innovative Projects. It is one of four projects in the category “Information and communication” that are recognized for successful practice of informing the public on the internet about projects benefiting from EU Regional policy.
Altogether there were 107 nominations received in all categories and 24 were selected to highlight the excellent and innovative work being done all over the European Union. Estlat.eu website was the only project from the Baltic States shortlisted for this year’s awards.
Head of Estonia – Latvia Programme secretariat Peeter Unt presented the website to the jury on January 16 in the European Commission in Brussels. The jury’s decision on the award winners will be announced in June at the Regions for Economic Change conference.
The awards competition is an initiative by the Directorate General for Regional Policy to highlight the most innovative projects, which have received investment from EU Cohesion policy.
More information about the Awards competition can be found on DG Regional Policy web site: http://ec.europa.eu/regional_policy/newsroom/detail.cfm?LAN=EN&id=155&lang=en.
