This Sunday, January 20 at 15:00 Latvijas Radio 3 – Klasika will broadcast a recording from the concert of young musicians, which was created in the Latvian Radio Studio One by meeting of more than fifty young musicians from Latvia and Estonia. The festival opening pieces were performed by Maestro Raimonds Pauls.

Maestro Raimonds Pauls participated in the opening of Estonia – Latvia Young Musicians Festival in Latvian Radio’s First Studio that took place on January 12, 2013, which also happens to be Maestro’s birthday. He was invited by Estonia – Latvia Programme project Radio Classics to open this Festival for young musicians performing classical music.

People from Estonia – Latvia Programme part-funded project Green Corridor came together at the end of 2012 and at the beggining of 2013 to clean forests near Ziemeri, Latvia, in order to make them more appropriate and pleasant environments for capercailye population rut activities. These birds prefer pine forests that are clean from smaller trees.
