Art works from International Cēsis Art Plenair will be exhibited in Tartu Creative Industries Center in October 2012. Estonian and Latvian artists worked together this summer in Cēsis and created art works, using natural linen seed oil based paints. The exhibit opening is scheduled for October 5.

International Conference “Environmental Science and Education in Latvia and Europe: Resources and Biodiversity”, organized by Estonia – Latvia Programme part-funded “Smart Gardens” project, will be held in Riga, Latvia, on October 19, 2012 at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of Latvia.

Latvian Radio will broadcast a concert by Latvian and Estonian musicians on September 21 at 20:30 to mark the European Cooperation Day 2012. The concert will consist of French composer Francis Pulenka „Litanies a la Vierge noire” and „Stabat Mater” by Latvian Academic choir and Estonian composer Helen Tulve’s opus „L'ombre derriere toi” and Felix Mendelson’s “Fifth Sympony”, conduced by Paavo Järvi.

In order to raise awareness about healthy foods and introduce the benefits of eating organically grown potatoes, Estonia – Latvia Programme part-funded project Baltorgpotato is organizing a Potato Day in Rīga on September 22. The event will take place at Berga Bazārs Farmers Market from 10:00 – 14:00, and will be one of European Cooperation Day 2012 events, organized by the project.

Open air stage in Võhma, Esotnia, has been already completed, but open air stage in Stende, Latvia, is still being built. Estonia – Latvia Programme project “Connecting Stende and Võhma” people are saying that it will definitely be ready for Estonia Days in Stende, scheduled for September 21 – 22, 2012.

Potato Field Day, organized by Estonia – Latvia co-financed project Baltorgpotato, will take place on August 16, 2012, in Lēdurga, Latvia. As the name of the event indicates, part of it will be spend out in a potato field, this time in the field of organic farm “Ozoliņi ZL”.

It has all information about the river that starts and ends in Latvia, but crosses the Latvian – Estonian border several times and, actually for most part, serves as the border between the both countries.

Dancers and craftspeople from Cēsis, Latvia, will participate in Tartu Hanseatic Days on Saturday, June 21, 2012. At the same time, Tartu, Estonia, Jazz band Kaisa Lillepuu Quartet will perform in Cēsis. Both cultural exchange events are part of Estonia – Latvia Programme funded „Artists for Regional Development“ project.

“A large orchestra in a small town”— reads the poster, advertising this weekend’s concert in Cēsis. It will bring together two brass orchestras – one from Cēsis, Latvia, and another one from Tartu, Estonia.
