16-01-2012 Green Corridor seminar in Veclaicene

People from the border areas of Estonia and Latvia are invited to attend an open seminar about ecosystems, habitats and species in the border area that will take place on January 25 at 10:00 in Veclaicene, Latvia. It is organized by the Estonia – Latvia Programme supported project Green Corridor.

Seminar topics include overall information about the project goals, lectures about forest meadows, forest pastures, various forest habitats and species as well as rivers and river restoration.

The seminar will be held in Latvian and Estonian, simulations translation will be provided. Participation in the seminar is free of charge. The Green Corridor project is implemented by the Latvian Nature Conservation Agency and the Estonian Environmental Board Põlva – Valga – Võru region administration. It aims to to identify and map key ecosystems, habitats, and species in the border areas and develop a joint plan for protection of the biological and landscape diversity in the border region.
