This week media representatives are invited to attend two unusual press conferences devoted to Estonia – Latvia Programme part-financed Radio Classics project, during which there will be two performances of young musicians – young trombone player Hendrik Jaak Sepp from Viljandi Music School in Estonia and young piano player Aurēlija Šimkus in Latvia.
The press conference in Latvia will take place in Rīga on June 19 and the press conference in Estonia – in Tallinn on June 20, both will start at 12:00. Gunda Vaivode, head of Radio Klasika, and Tiia Teder, head of Klassikaraadio, will be main speakers at each press conference.
Project Radio Classics aims to involve young musicians into professional classical music and increase the popularity of classical music among young people in Estonia and Latvia. Most project activities, including music festivals in Viljandi and Rīga, will be available to audiences of Latvian Radio Klasika and Estonian Klassikaraadio listeners.
