Priority 2. Higher competitiveness of the Programme area, 2.1 Facilitating business start-up and development
Start date and expiry date:
2008-01-01 - 2010-12-31
Description:

The project aims at creating a strong cross-border integrated Network of Protolabs – Product Development, Training and Testing Centres. These centres support development of relevant industries, helping to shift their focus from the traditional routes to more high tech and higher value added sectors for the benefit of the local entrepreneurs.

The partnership and the strong need for this kind of network arise from the common interests, yet distinctive strengths of the partners. The institutional and regional industry profiles are similar to some extent (metal and machinery industry, electronics industry), however, each organization has a clear advantage ground in terms of specific mechatronics-related key sectors that are more advanced in their regions. Thus engaging in mutual knowledge transfer and strategic cooperation will significantly foster development of mechatronics-related industries in the region.
